Just like everything else, Black Friday is going to feel very strange this year. A second wave of COVID-19 has hit Europe, America, and beyond, so it’s unlikely we’ll see huge crowds packing into shopping malls and clambering over each other on November 27th.

So sure, this year has been a struggle. But in saying farewell to that annual tradition, we might have finally found its silver lining!

What to expect from Black Friday 2020

Yet no matter what Mother Nature throws at us, some things in life will never change. Exhibit A: Shoppers still want to shop. Particularly as we’re all set to spend lots of time indoors for the foreseeable future. And, of course, nobody really knows how easy it’s going to be to buy gifts ahead of the festive season.

With that in mind, major retailers like Amazon, Macy’s, Walmart, and Target have hinted that product sales are set to go live throughout November, not just on Black Friday itself. Amazon is actually running an entire Early Black Friday Deals campaign between October 26th and November 19th.

So how else might Black Friday 2020 and Cyber Monday be different than normal? Well, apart from retailers scrambling to get offers out ahead of the competition, another impact of the Coronavirus pandemic has been economic. Plenty of household budgets are looking tighter than usual. So overall, it’s likely that we’ll see bigger discounts from retailers as they push to clear old stock and appeal to bargain hunters that are way more cautious than usual.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that Black Friday 2020 deliveries will probably take longer than usual because supply chains and logistics companies are still adapting to the new normal. For an example of that, look no further than whatever’s going on with the new Playstation 5. With more and more shopping moving online, make sure you order well in advance to guarantee your things arrive when you want them.
